ABOUT

Lena Sami is a British–Swedish–Assyrian–Iraqi screenwriter and multidisciplinary storyteller whose work blends commercial entertainment with emotional depth. She writes character-driven, cinematic films centred on humour, heart, and escapism, with strong international and franchise potential. Lena works across rom-com, adventure, fantasy, action, and grounded sci-fi, and is currently developing multiple feature projects. Originally a performer, she trained briefly at Identity School of Acting (IDSA) before transitioning into writing and story development. She also holds a double Master’s degree in Innovation Design Engineering from Imperial College London and the Royal College of Art, where she developed world-building, narrative design and concept-driven storytelling skills.

A high-concept psychological sci-fi exploring identity, freedom and state surveillance in near-future London. Submitted to the BFI Early Development Fund and inspired by Lena’s AI short 404: LAYLA, created for the AI Film Awards in Dubai, UAE.

A high-energy, commercial action-comedy being developed in parallel as both a feature screenplay and a fiction novel.

The film explores a woman who disappears from a fully tracked society and becomes the one person the system cannot decode.

Threshold – TV Drama Pilot

A grounded drama pilot about identity, ambition, and the clash between worlds, following a young man moving from Stockholm to London and being pulled between hope and the estate culture around him.
Threshold has been officially selected and recognised at various international festivals as a proof-of-concept for a potential series.
